Celtek… Originating in the SLC around 2k2-2k3 this glove company owned by brothers Erik and Bjorn Leines Celtek has always been a favorite of mine. Heres what they have coming up for 2011/2012
Various gloves and mitts
Various gloves and mitts pt2
In the shots above you may notice some pattern repetition.. thats because many of the patterns in this years line are offered in a glove and a three fingered mitt
Doman art, Rasta colors, and a removable liner ... win/win/win
these are the heavy hitters in a basic black and tan ... Celteks beefiest glove and mitt for super cold temps
Celtek has two collaborations this season. This is a shot of the first a sock/mitt crossover with Stance
a shot of some of Celteks headwear for next season
The second Celtek collaboration is with Vans. Here you see the Celtek Vans boot and street shoe as well as the Celtek Vans mitt with iconic Vans sole inspired print on the palm
Close up of the Celtek/Vans mitt. Also here you get a good peek at the new trimmed down Celtek logo
YES… The circumstances that formed the creation of Yesnowboards are pretty well known. At first I, like many others, wondered if the guys behind Yes would be able to pull it off. Obviously the answer was yes and this year they are entering SIA with a great new line of product and more buzz than ever…
Lat seasons "Great Dudes of History" line was a big success. This year Yes comes at you with the "Great Beauties of History" .. maybe not as educational but definitely easier on the eyes. This line, like last season's, features an asymmetrical heel edge and Yes' Ultimate Grip technology for added response and grip on those long heel side traverses
Tadashi Fuse's model
The Basic lives on...
The most exciting news from Yes for me was the addition of the Jackpot. The Jackpot is a softer (not noodle) than normal board from Yes thats just at home jibbing the mountain as it is slaying steep pow lines when its a deep day. DCP said they even made it plain for kids to get their paint pen art/sticker job on haha. Perfect for the rider that likes to treat the entire mountain as a park The Jackpot, like the Great Beauties line, features the asymmetrical heel edge and Ultimate Grip technology.
Nikita.… Always on the fore front of womens fashion, both on the hill and off, Nikita has been making amazing clothes for over a decade. Sebastien of Nikita Marketing was able to take a few minutes to show me some of his favorites from the upcoming outerwear line….
Super Tech yet super comfortable and stylish is a hallmark of Nikita.
Jacket with tri color pockets
A top and bottom ensemble. The zippered flap on the jacket can be worn as shown or shipped all the way up for a clean look. The pants are a skinny cut but with a less constricting cut in the crotch to make riding comfortable as well as fashionable.
Sebastien shows how Nikita, unlike many clothing companies, makes their second layer jacket softshells just as fashionable as their outerlayers. In spring any lady would be proud to rock one of these around town or on the hill for spring/summer riding.
Nikita first layers in a traditional Nikita print. Note the pockets on the pants making them suitable to wear around the home after a long day on the hill.
This season Nikita has a collaboration with Romanian artist, designer, and snowboarder Ghica Popa. Here is a back view (sorry for the lack of a front view) of the Nikita/Ghica Popa jacket.
Here is a detail of the Ghica Popa print.. very cool.
Nikita has two one pieces in this years collection. This one is in traditional stylish black.
The second one piece comes in the traditional Nikita print seen earlier in the underlayer.
Heres a picture of the black one piece .. realizing it looks so large off the rack Sebastien asked a fellow Nikita representative to try it on... great fit.
